Leaves: to remove or not remove?

Hiya I'm a complete beginner in the garden as a recent first time buyer so apologies if this seems like a silly question. I printed some spring bulbs back in autumn and noticed some are starting to like through to the surface, many despite being under a layer of leaves. Is it advantageous to leave leaves on the flower bed to protect from the winter frost or should they be removed from the garden entirely (I realise they will damage the lawn if left on there) Thanks

Bulbs won't have any problem but if there are other smaller plants in there they may be swamped

The first thing I do with any new devise is to remove the predictive spelling!

I dont like leaves laying on the beds, I remove them to the compost heap.

I think some people do leave then though, I think they are just a breeding ground for slugs.

  • First thing clear any leaves from the lawn that would help second yes I would clear leaves from the area were the bulbs are , bulbs are very hardy and they will ok in hard frost only thing bulbs don't like and will rot and die is damp soil hope that helps your problem regards David . Ps what are the bulbs anyway ,
