Heating/Insulating Greenhouse
in Talkback
I purchased a greenhouse last year 6ft by 4ft and grew annual seed, they did OK, but did take sometime to germinate as did not have any insulation or heater. However this year I am being organised! I plan to insulate the greenhouse with bubble wrap and perhaps invest in a greenhouse heater for a greenhouse this small does anyone have any recommendations.
Just been browsing for seeds which I always buy too much of!

Just what I would say Philippa, dont be too eager to sow seeds, they will only get leggy, you cant plant them out until May anyway.
I havent got a heater or a propagator, I raise hundreds of seeds, start them off indoors on a window sill, you dont need to sow in a full size seed tray, (unless you want 500 or whatever is in the packet) sow in rice pots, or little meat trays, then when they are ready to prick out its about mid to end of April, then out in the green house they go. Later sown plants will be stockier and stronger than early sown ones.
I know that lots of people are just so eager to get started, but its well worth the wait.
The only exception I make to that is bedding Lobelia, I sow the whole packet of 4000 of those in mid February, they take quite a while to grow, put a little pinch into separate modules, then you dont need to prick out or you will be there forever.
