Winter aconites, snowdrops, crocus, daffodils, tulips, irises, lilies,...???....,nerines. Sorry no prizes.

Gladiolus? Crocosmia?
Would tubers do? Dahlias? Begonias? Or corms, Gladioli?

I think winter aconites are officially tubers so dahlias should be allowed. And fits neatest into the gap I think.
Crocuses are corms and irises are rhizomes... So I think any type of perennating organ is OK
I love crocosmia and gladiolus but the flowering time of the latter is so short, so I think I will go for crocosmia, especially as it is from Brasiiil ! Dahlias will not do as I would have to lift them and I am not always there to do that. Colchicum is a nice idea but it is a border situation and they are a bit on the small side. Okay okay no giant snowdrops.....Curiously enough crocosmia don't flower in Brazil until late summer, despite the fact it is a lot hotter...
