Roses

LillyLilly Posts: 64

Hi, I am a novice in the Garden and really need some advice. I was given Three bare root shrub roses last year that I have planted in the wrong position, under a mature Ash tree with very little light. Is it possible to lift them and place them in a better location ? if so when and how should I do it.  Thank you in advance

I would also sprinkle some Rootgrow which is beneficial fungi especially good for roses.  You need to coat all the roots with the powder.

One other thing. Should I cut them back ? as they have got rather leggy ...

It would help to know what the names of your roses are, in order to give more specific pruning advice, but in general, you won't hurt them by pruning them a little now.

remember to have the "union" , the bit between the root and top growth, about 5 cm  2" below soil level.
