Help with Foxgloves please.

pfukpfuk Posts: 1

I am relatively new to gardening and i have some foxgloves in the garden that i grew from seed last year.

My question is, now the winter is nearly over the leaves are still green and have quite a few holes and rips in them. I think its from pest and weather damage. Should i cut off all of the foliage with some scissors and await new growth in the spring or do i just leave alone to do their own thing?

I really want to remove the leaves from last years growth as they are quite damaged and i thought that this would be what i would have to do anyway, i was expecting them to die off totally over the winter but its been quite mild so far.

Thanks

I wouldn't interfere with them now, when new growth comes it will probably cover the old.

Mine have sprouted new leaves since last season but the snow has turned them a bit black. Gonna leave them to do their own thing until it's warmer. The damaged leaves probably act as some form of protection for new growth below.
