Winter patio pots

I recieved some lovely pots to go on the patio of my new house for Christmas, but I'm not sure what I can put in them at this time of year, that will either have something to show now, or preparation for some spring blooms. I'd love to be able to put them to use as soon as possible!

Can you show us a picture of them or tell us the measurements of the pots?
Are there still violas, pansies and primulas in your GC? Or you could use evergreen foliage plants. Or hellebores as a stop gap, plant them out when you put the summer flowers in the pots.
BettyBoo are you sure the pots are frost proof?
