    Tootles, you say about the increased housing turning a village into a small town,can you also fight this about the extra traffic coming into the village  on a safety aspect. Would new roads have to be built  ?

    This is slightly different but ;

    In our village a business man wanted to build an America ice cream parlour .we all signed a petition and wrote objections because of turning into the premises there was not enough room.

    He didn't get the planning permission.

    Public consultations does seem to work , my local Pub wanted to extend there dinning room , Parish , Distict and County Concillors objected so they deciced not to proceed

    I adviced  them to do a Public Consultation which they did and lots of people thought it was a good idea they applied for planning permission and get it , extension built before Christmas

    The same could happen in reverse , call a public meeting if you get get lots of support , who knows !
