  • I'm mad about dogwoods and have 4 different kinds. I think midwinter fire is my favourite. Got 2 half price from wyevale.

So far its between Taxus 'standishii' and Prunus 'Snow Showers'.  Liked the idea of an Acer but its too exposed. Think I want something a bit more formal than the Viburnum and Winter Honeysuckle (have both in the back garden). I'm looking to put dogwood in the back garden too. Think its a bit near the path for anything fruiting as when they fall the fruits would sqash in the gravel and walk in the house, otherwise a crab apple would have been quite nice.  Thanks for all your help.

Today I finally decided to give up on the fight to save my euonymus from scale.  I have taken Verdun's advice and gone for Taxus Standishii.
