strange scrapy-type holes in lawn.

For the last few weeks, we've been waking up to find shallow scrapes/holes appearing in our front lawn.     It just happens at night.   We were wondering what creature would be doing this - foxes?  hedgehogs?        We do have urban foxes so I'm thinking it might be them - but why?

Any ideas?

Foxes probably, grubbing out critters such as worms and grubs they can hear moving underground.  I have a similar problem but it's my dogs digging for moles in their tunnels.

I've come across this in gardens before and badgers have been to blame.  Haven't managed to fine a successful way of stopping them yet so let me know how you get on. www.alisonpike.com/blog/

  • it could be foxes as they like worms but it might be a badger as they like looking for worms on the lawn look for where a Badger might have come in usually barging its way through the fence or how long the claws are.
