Growing acteas

This is my second year growing acteas and they look good. Just flowering now and fantastic brown/purplish foliage. In theory I grow them as advised......moisture, light shade..... But they till suffer from crisping and parched leaves t this time of year. Who else is growing these plants and doing so bit better than I currently do?
