Please can anybody tell me the name of this plant.

  • One that has been put forward as being a possibility from another site is "Gladioli Communis Byzantium"! It is difficult to say just by looking at and comparing images.

    Comparison wise it does look very similar...that is not to say that the others are wrong.

    1. I am located a few miles north of Cardiff, we are on the side of a small valley sitting about 7 houses up in terms of height. Winter has been kind to us (so far) with temperatures  only dropping to a frosty -3c, having said that we do catch the breeze a tad bit stiffly more than most.........for all of that along with some heavy rain.......the petals are still hanging in there.
