Snow Queen hydrangea

Peanuts3Peanuts3 Posts: 759

Merry Christmas to everyone.  Hope you are all full of turkey and looking at your gardening presents and making plans for next year.

I planted a Snow Queen Hydrangea in March of this year.  I've just realised that its leaves are still green, and I had no flowers on it.  Is this because I planted a fairly young plant. It was a 2l pot that I planted.

Was looking forward to its lovely flowers and autumnal colour.  Does it just take a few years to get established?

Does anyone else have one ?

Thank you

Hi Peanuts - Merry Christmas to you tooimage

i haven't got snow queen, but my other hydrangeas tend to need a good frost before they lose their leaves (although they have gone now) and my oakleaf one still has its leaves on - but they are russet now, not green.  Is it in a very sheltered spot?
