Dahlia tubers

  • Verdun, when I say 4-5 flowers per plant, I mean in flower at the same time, not in total. Its certainly alot more than that image

Perhaps this is something to advertise on the seed swap thread or start one for dahlias.

  • I'm a bit confused regarding dahlia tubers, I've had one plant for two years it was just a random buy. The wee plant had grown well in my pot I did lift it and dried it out. This   time I'd like to have more plants from the tubers but I have watched so many you tube videos I'm confused. I've cut off all the vieny bits not I'm confused as to wether I split the tubers and plant or take cuttings from the tubers if I keep then together, can any one explain the difference and give me advice what I should do? I love it so much I have sent for different species of tuber. Ps I think the swop shop of tubers sounds amazing I'd like some of the ones that resemble an origami ball!

  • I've always left the tubers in the ground with our warmer winters I've got away with it even my geraniums are going into their 3rd season.  Swap tubers is a great idea I have purples and deep orange dahlias
