I like the idea of a chatroom because we'd not have to have a " topic" as such.

It's nice to have proper subjects you can follow when you have time, and to drop back in to see what's been said , but sometimes just a natter about nothing in particular might be nice too.

You never know, maybe in the future the powers that be might give it a trial run?????

That would be lovely Hosta, but it cost a lot of money to run a live chat room, and it has to have a mod in there, very open to trolls. We had one on a site we used to be on, St Pixels, online church, sadly gone but nice at the time, its on facebook only now.

'but sometimes just a natter about nothing in particular might be nice too'.

Given the tortuous pathways that topics lead us along at times I don't thing we need worry much about nattering about nothing in particular.  Some time ago I posted a photo of an orange DA rose I planted some 20 years ago and said it would still be blooming at Christmas if all was as usual.  It's a bit battered as we've had several hard frosts, howling gales, drenching rain.......

I'm not usually looking for anything in particular, I just chip when something turns up of interest.  Usually I've got stuck on something I should be doing and I find doing something different, be it browsing here or a couple of other places (or walking the dog, or deadheading) gets my brain into gear again and I get back to the real task in hand.
