Tree identificagtion

http://tortwortharboretum.org/arboretum/the-trees/#

Hi I wonder if anyone can help with some identification please? quite a few trees are known already but if you go to the above link it takes you onto the Tortworth Court arboretum and there is a tree labelled as Monarch Birch but not verified, if anyone here knows if that is a Monarch Birch or anything else? please let me know. Many thanks for any help, I think I may be calling on you all quite a lot having just been asked to join on a volunteer basis to map and properly label the trees at the arboretum.  This is a fairly new project with a lot of work/help needed so if anyone here lives within the vicinity of Tortworth Court and would like to help in any way please go onto the above site which will provide you with more information and direct you to the people to contact to put your name down to help, many thanks Sal

  • Looks like river birch to me, Betula nigra.

  • It would help if we had photos of the leaves.

  • Thanks for coming back to me, I'm at Tortworth on Friday and will see if I can get any pictures of the leaves.  I'm not getting replies through to my emails which is why I'm a long time coming back, I didn't think anyone had answered! Thanks Sal

Hi Sal image  There's a blip on the forum that means some people aren't getting alerts to replies - it's on the web-team's To Do list, but it's a long list image
