I don't know where the advice re airing cupboard came from. Tree paeonies germinate quicker with no heat. Yes, leave them to it. They are hardy. somewhere out of strong sunshine
Thanks will give it a go. The established one seems to have some spreading leaf wilt so maybe if it bites the dust I will be able to replace it in due course.

They're very slow for the first few years so be patient
