Indoor Yuccas Dying Fast - please help!

Hi, I'm hoping someone can please help, and fast. We have two beautiful indoor Yucca plants that we purchased from separate people last year. They have been doing just fine until a few weeks ago when they started to yellow at a rapid pace, my partner has since removed almost 50 leaves in total. The only things we can think are:

1. They've been overwatered - but we're generally very conscious about this

2. They are reacting to sudden changes in temperature, It's been a pretty mild winter so far but we do have an open  fire which will sometimes make a big difference. They are also not getting so much light now the summer has passed.

I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give.

Many thanks

Sian

  • My instinct says if you're sure you're not over watering then it's lack of light - but I've not grown yuccas indoors.  They're said to like filtered light, but light levels are rubbish at the moment, I'd put them in a south facing window and give them as much light as you can and keep them almost bone dry.

Mine hasn't been watered for at least a month now, and it sits in a room where it has no direct sunlight but has decent light all year round. It's very green and healthy.

Be wary of having it too near an open fire as that does frazzle them image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
