Forgot to fleece my containers, is it too late now?

Hello,

We had our first frost this morning.

I forgot to put fleece round my contaniers.

Is it worth doing this evening or is it too late?

Thanks

We have had two ground frosts so far, one this morning, its very cold, dont usually get frost till spring, although the snow will be thick probably because we are high. Is this an indication of a cold winter to come, I really hope so,

But do cover any plants you think are tender, or take then inside. Dont let the fleece touch the pla nts though as when that freezes, it will damage the plants, try to make a tent effect,

I think there could be a cold winter to come Lyn, a lot of outdoorsy type people I know have been saying it.

Still somewhat mild here for the time of year, but we had no frost until spring last year, this year two already. Would be nice to have a proper winter after the amazing spring, summer and autumn.

Winter has arrived here with snow last night.   Still lying in the garden and fields but will have thawed by tomorrow I'm told.  I shall be off to stock up on bird food this pm just in case and OH moved the last of the pots into the shed for shelter last night.

No snow at all last year and only a couple of very light frosts but lots of strong winds and rain.  I'd like a proper winter this year but not so cold I lose plants again and, pretty please, can I have just a few mor warmish days to get the ast of the bulbs planted and for OH to turn another compost bin?

Same with the frosts here last year Gemma, the ice laid on the water buts for a week, we did have snow but not so much as usual. A nice cold winter will kill off some of the bugs and slug eggs.

Its been a beautiful crispy clear winters day hereimage.

The sunrise during my drive to work was a wash of oranges, reds and pinks! A real treat!

This time of year of year is fab, although I really dislike how the supermarkets hijak it as one last chance to shove commercialism down our throats and max thier annual profits!

Bit of luck really.  I drove up the hill out of the village to drop down into the next valley.  As I got to the top that was the sky straight ahead.  I had my camera with me as usual so spared a minute or two not only to enjoy the view but take its picture as well.  The 'bumps' at the bottom of the photo are trees on the top of the next hill to climb over.  Dorset's like that if you're travelling bottom to top, across you're mostly either in a valley or on top of a hill
