...... I prefer to eat what I can grow myself or purchase from local sources but not everyone can do this .......particularly when the big supermarkets will persist in offering imported meat over locally produced. Danish bacon is a good example
A particular bugbear of mine! Danish pigs are kept to far lower welfare standards than pigs in the UK, so of course it's cheaper
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I am sorry for the long delay in my reply. No I don't use any chemicals in the garden. Wether I am doing the right thing or not, I keep the grass short and fork it regularly, well that's not totally true, my son does the forking. Weeds, I was given the nickname weed less years ago. If I spotted a tiny weed trying to grow I'd pull it out straight away. A small weed becomes a big weed, which is alot more difficult to remove. Brambles, I would get scratched from head to toe, swear alot but I would chop down the top growth then painstakingly dig the roots out. Yes I was a mad gardener. Now I speak of this in past tense, as many of you will probably know life hasn't been too kind to me the last few years due to ill health. However the garden still needs a helping hand, I have no special techniques, I just do what works for me.Oh and btw if you had been following my story about friend or foe. I played a recording of me singing. I tell you it works, no sign of ratty.
