Mushrooms in raised bed

Hi Guys,

These have been springing up around the garden but there's a lot more in the raised bed, is there any reason for concern?

  • Absolutely no need for concern Missyjane image  They're just helping to break down the lovely organic matter that's enriching  your raised bed - they'll disappear when the weather gets colder.

I had tonnes too but they seem to do no harm. I just dig this into the soil. Apparently mushroom compost is really good for growing with. The famous Terry Walton talks about it in his book. He used to get tonnes of the stuff for his allotment for free, until the mushroom companies clocked on that they could sell it!
