This is one of my favourite places in the whole wide world! They are growers about an hour from us and just as high (Shap) I have had many many plants and they have all thrived. My trees have all taken brilliantly and my lime tree is laden. Their knowledge is superb and advice is always available.
i can't recommend a trip enough, the lay out is so pretty, all laid out like ruins and the little organic restruant yummy

I have pink and blue Shap rock in my collection. A regular calling place for OU geology students many years ago. Summer schools/field trips no longer take place and it's all on-line. So glad I did my degree when it was hands-on
I've been to Larch Cottage when we used to stay at nearby Penrith on holidays... very much a plants persons nursery...
..one or two of these shrubs for sale look quite interesting and I'm checking them out...
a Hydrangea and a Syringa I don't know... nor that Callicarpa...

Am taking a day off and going down to collect 4 Diervilla Trojan black. There will no doubt be more as it is such a wonderful place.
