When do I cut back Michaelmas Daisy

Hello,

Can anyone advise me on when to cutback Michaelmas Daisy's please? Books give a variety of options from cutting back now to leaving until the Spring.

    They are tough as old boots, I would cut them back now if they look tatty

    I'll take your advice and do it now as they do look a mess.

    I agree it a good time to do them now to prune down or split as they are going into a dormant state.
