what does leggy in plants mean ? can they recover from this .

    ..like Kim Kardashian with a flower on top.... which would be a good thing actually as I've seen quite enough of her..

    ...tall and lanky... some shrubs go that way.... need a good cutting back..

    Hi Verdun if young plants are tall and are bending to one side i am guessing that this is due to them being leggy and not getting enough light can you turn the plant so that it is getting equal amount of light on each side each day to make them grow straight or is the seedling finished .

    The problem with sowing anything at this time of year is legginess and just as Verdun describes.Excess heat creates fast, weak growth and it then becomes more difficult to achieve a good strong plant. Hardy perennials in particular because they really should be outside, just with some protection from the most severe weather, and if they're allowed to get long and spindly in a false environment, it then becomes difficult to get them out. It's a fine balance. 

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
