Cobnut trees
Hello Everyone.
I have four cobnut trees aprox 4 years old. They are growing in large containers.
In the time I have had them they have produced only 1 One nut.
This year the leaves are falling and there are lots of catkins on the branches. What purpose do they do.?? Help please.
Best Regards. B.

The catkins are the male flowers which fertilise the female flowers. The female flowers appear at the same time as the catkins open up in spring. The females are little tufty red things. You've got 4 so you'll be OK for cross pollination.
