Paper white narcissi

i bought and planted my paper white bulbs around 6-8 weeks ago, they grew well, loads of foliage, then I starte to see some buds and was excited to see the flowers....and all have gone brown and not opened or half opened then just stopped, some are in a warm wet facing room, some in East facing cooler, what's happened? total waste if time and money, I grew them last year successfully
