Edd with your calculations you have given a raised bed width of 16 ft. No raised bed should be wider than 4 ft or you will have to climb on it to cultivate! The whole point of a raised bed is you never compact it by walking on it.
Welshonion... Thank you brotha but you think it will be more beneficial if i break up the 16ft raise bed into 3? 3 4ft raise bed? Or with the 16ft raise bed i can put 2x4 or 2x2 across the bed so that i can walk over it?
A bed 16 ft long is fine. Anything over 4 ft wide is difficult because you will be tempted to walk on the soil, and that is not good, as the whole point of a raised bed is that you work it from the sides. Most people can reach 2 ft easily but not much more.
If you want to work the bed while balancing on 2x4 that is entirely up to you. At my age it's not an option!
Hey guys wuick question. So at this moment im growing kale, spinach, and broccoli but when i trans planted them my kale seem to be dyingm discoloration crumbling up... Im new to this so idk what is going on. Same thing with my tomatoes im growing inside. I transplanted them and the seem like they are dying plz help. And im using ancient forest humus also when i transplated them i put a lil fertilizer
Are you having us on here or do you live in Australia.
Could I suggest you reading a book on veg growing, then ask any questions you are not sure of. Any packet of seeds you buy will tell you when to sow and plant out
And I see you must have had all your top soil and fertilizer delivered and your veg ready to plant out. When are you planning to do that?
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I live in US , tell you the truth i thought you used humus because the tomatoes thrive on it but i guess thats not thr case. Wben i had them germinating they were growing big and beautiful, so once they got about 2 inches i transplated them to a bigger pot. Filled the pot with the same acient forest humus soil nothing more and i put some fertilizer on them and now it seems like they are dying or in shock. Idk what to do i guess i kinda jumped the gun.

I make it about 16 tons topsoil. It's cheaper to get it by the truck, but still going to cost you about £550 to £600 I should think.
