The above plant come in a pot without a label,  It grew tall and flowered this summer.  Now wondering what to do with it, will it overwinter still in an outdoor pot, or do I need to put it in a greenhouse? Can I split it? Or is it just a one summer plant?

Thanks in Advance

    Cineraria

Usually grown as an Annual in the UK.

It can be overwintered in frost free conditions I believe.

  • I am absolutely no expert but came across a similar flower a few weeks ago when looking for plants for a white patch. It reminded me of Senecio cineraria, but I could be completely wrong.

There is bound to be an expert along soon enough. image

Haha I grow cineraria to compliment my Cyclamens. A lovely combination.

Its a half hardy perennial, but usually treated as an annual. It will survive a very mild winter.

  • Many Thanks all

I will pop it in the greenhouse and see if it will survive winter

I think it looked better smaller, not very  keen on it in flower

Think I had some cyclamens too -  will these overwinter too?

  • Some Cyclamens can be hardy, but it will depend on temperatures and exposure in your particular area.  I live in North America Zone 5a.  Winter wet is as much a problem as snow and low temperatures.

I have never tried Dusty Millers for a second year.
