Autumn Lawn Feed

Can anyone tell me if I am too late to apply an Autumn lawn feed now?  I wasn't going to bother but our lawn is looking a bit ropey.

    Thanks Edd,

Not specifically.  It's on clay but we do scarify, aerate with a hollow tine and fill with sharp sand but it gets walked on everyday when it's wet.  There are some bits where the grass is a bit yellow.

  • Hi Mrs G, i had the same thought so i went to my local garden centre who advised me that there is a special feed call evergreen autumn feed 2 in 1, which can be applied between September and mid November - unfortunately they didn't have it in stock but advised me of a website that sells it and can delivery straight to my door plus they had 30% off sale http://www.thegardenfactory.co.uk/index.php/products/evergreen-autumn-2-in-1-lawn-food-35kg

With the mild weather it should still be fine to apply as it is feeding the roots not the top ! Hope that helps it did for me Mrs Key

Thanks Mrs Key that was the one I had my eye on as I used the summer one and it was great.  I like the plastic carton with the built in spreader though!

I haven't used it before Verdun but being on clay and with two chickens, a husband and toddler who don't 'RESPECT THE LAWN' I am willing to give it a go.  Got a new sprog due in Jan too so there won't be much time for any spring maintenance. image

I thought it toughens up the lawn for winter and makes it stronger for spring?

    Oh ok thanks Verdun.
