I have exactly 1 pear this year Pansyface. That's from a 3-variety family tree, a duo and a patio type. Still not ripe though and I bet the squirrels will have it before I do. Like Derbyshire, I think Leics is just too cold for free-standing pear trees. Might try moving the family tree to a position against a south-facing fence I now have space for it, after getting a privet hedge removed.

I have had a family apple tree for about 5 years now, and only had both variety of apples once. One side fruits every year but the other never seems to produce any fruits, can anyone help!
