What do you do next with cuttings that have taken pls?

TootlesTootles Posts: 1,469

hello

i took these cutting back in early September and they appear to have taken! Chuffed! But what do I do now? There are about seven in this pot. Do I leave them until the print or separate them now into individual pots? They are (pls forgive my spelling) erisyum (lovely purple spikes) I think. I also have the same with salvia hot lips cuttings. Thanks ever so!

Christopher Lloyd said don't disturb cuttings at this time of year.

What I sometimes do if I have a pot full of roots now is to pot on the whole lot as one lump. That way the roots can be left undisturbed til spring

It's hard to leave them isn't it. I've got pelagonium cuttings at the same stage, obviously growing still, I feel I want to pot them on but I know leaving them Alone is the best thing. I need to keep them indoors as it is too cold for them in my unheated greenhouse I'll banish them to a less sunny window sill when I'm feeling stronger.

I am still potting on as well, hot lips, fuchsias and those bowles mauves.

I would do as Verdun says, in fact I just have. The roots are ready to pot on, the plants will be grateful for it in the spring.
