Winter onions
in Fruit & veg
As a novice gardener, just starting out with growing veg, I need all the advice I can get. I planted onion sets in modules in my unseated greenhouse as Monty advised a couple of weeks ago. These have all sprouted well and most are over 3inches tall. Should I plant then out side now. I have raised beds. And should I cover tem at all

Winter onions are hardy, so get them out now. Planting in cells give them a head start and stops birds pulling them up, so transfer them asap. No need to cover them.
Thanks, I have planted them out under a well ventilated cloche, and will now wait and see.
I planted mine out last week so fingers crossed we have given them a good start for a great harvest next year
