more seed sowing queries

I thought I had mummified flowers on my Hibiscus Blue Bird and then discovered they were the seed pods, bursting with ripe seed.

I can't resist a challenge so have to give them a go but when to sow?  If you have tried them how did you get on?  Otherwise I will do what I did with the agapanthus and sow now with one pot on the kitchen windowsill and another in the cold greenhouse.

I still can't decide what to do with the seeds of the bignonia - sow now or in the spring?

any advice/experience  would be welcome

  • Hibiscus seed themselves everywhere here, I would just sow them in a pot now and leave them outside over winter, unless the temperatures drop very low. They should germinate well in spring.

  • OK  thank you both.  As soon as I've finished potting up  bulbs and planting out wallflowers I'll pop them in a pot or.two and see what happens.  No need to chastise me for being so late with everything, - I KNOW - but it's not been a good year for me.

Wish somebody could help with the bignonia though - will google and see what comes up.

  • good idea - will do thank you Philippaimage
