Have had one plant for at least seven years. I grow it for the foliage and flowers. I cut off any tatty leaves during the year and watch out for snails and ant farms. I let the bees enjoy the beautiful blue flowers and compost the lot when they're finished. The new leaves will be up by Autumn.
I give it a bit of a feed in the spring and water only in drought conditions. Can't comment on eating quality as I've never tried one. It's hardy now and even survived next door's roofer dumping rubble on it.
