The different coloured carrots taste so much better ,I've grown several colours and they stay true to colour , they usually been all the way through with the colour. The only ones I've been disappointed with are the white ,,but only as they for me don't come out a true white ,maybe it's my mucky soil
I have also grown the different coloured radish and beetroot which are all good .the different coloured beetroot have a sweeter taste.
Tomatoes too , I have grown pink , which amusingly were called pink pong
.black , and green and yellow .these are not so acidic
I don't grow the normal colours ,I think it'd good to experiment.
The purple carrots I grew had orange centres and were very tasty. Must have another go next year.
I tried yellow beetroots one year but we didn't like them. Love the purple ones though, and their leaves, though I do fancy trying the stripy chioggia ones.
