PROUD!

So happy! I delved into the very unknown this year and grew some cobaea scandens.... Aka cup &saucer plant... It grew very quickly and climbed everywhere but after going through the whole of summer and having a lovely leaf colour change from a bright green to a plum purple I was really not expectant of any flowers this late in the year!... How wrong was I.... And how pretty are they!! And oh how very proud am I ????..... The only thing is... In England it dies once the temp drops below around 7 degrees... In hot countries this plant is apparently like a weed ... In my eyes a very beautiful one. I will try to over winter one of the four I grew but the nature of this plant is really to be left in situation and not messed around with.... I will PROUDLY put one of these beauty's as my profile picture. Also ... Did anyone else's sunflowers get some serious sizes this year? Mine were humongous ????
Whatisthis?

Seed pods are usually left on the plant until they have gone brown and the seeds have fully ripened. Then just as they are opening you can take them off.

  • If I leave the seed pod on the plant it doesn't go brown it diapers to nothing .

  • This darn I.pad !!!!! It should read disappears ,not diapers.

  • What an achievement!!! What pretty flowers!! Must try growing this next year.
