    Do you reckon that's it Pete?

    I had to dredge deeply for thatimage 

    No first hand experience, very alkaline here.

    I've done a lot of garden visiting thoughimage

    Is it a species of Pachsandra.  There are several that are used quite frequently for ground cover under tall trees.  The one at the Bristol bot. Garden has pretty flowers in the spring.
