Dogwood

Cleared the garden for winter looks a bit bare now I want a shrub that will add colour thru winter but my garden is only small so I want something that will be fairly compact I looked at dogwood because that is the sort of thing I am looking for but not grow so big.     Any ideas please

Sibirica is a very vibrant red - i don't think any of the cornus grown for stem colour grow too big, as you coppice them so regularly to keep the stems young and colourful.

  • Thanks I will put that on my shopping list

Actually Philippa your answer has piqued my interest in dogwood. I was thinking it would look really nice next to my pond image
