dying bamboos

Hello, my large bamboos keep perishing. The leaves turn black and before you know it, the whole stem dies. I don't know whether I am over or under watering them or whether its something else. My balcony is mostly shaded too. Any help would be gratefully appreciated

lermontov, I've never grown bamboo in pots which I assume yours are in if they are on your balcony
so sorry can't really help you.
Mine are in the garden in full sun and receive no additional watering or feeding. The problem might be that they cannot spread their roots or a lack of sun but I don't know.
My brother managed to keep his in a pot. Not sure if he does anything particular with his.
Sorry can't help anymore, mostly I just eat bamboo
I'm sure someone will be along who can help
