query about bulbs

Last year I planted bulbs in containers, I removed them over the summer, just wondering if you should remove the dry outer Skins before repotting? Cheers

I rub any loose stuff off, and check the bulbs for signs of rot and if I find any that bulb gets binned, but I wouldn't remove all of the dry outer skin.

  • Thanks for your reply, not sure if I am bit late repotting them but have been enjoying my geraniums and petunia. Do you know if it is possible to over winter Petunia?

Petunias are annuals and easy to grow from seed. You are better off putting them on the compost and starting again in springimage

  • Well I might as well just leave them in the pots whilst till in flower ???? but don't suppose that will be for much longer as the weather seems to have now changed
