Discounts that cost more not less

When I added the discount code from the latest subscriber magazine the cost increased by £3 !!!
By adding the discount code, postage was added and the discount foe 3 lots of potatoes was removed.
I suggest that the magazine either removes the discount or warns subscribers that using them will increase the cost.
