Can anyone identify these caterpillars?

Can anyone identify these caterpillars? Thye have shredded my rhodedendron. I thought they were azalea caterpillers but now not so sure. Also how do I revive my rhodedendron?

They could be Vapourer Moth caterpillars

Don't know about the caterpillars, but I would prune the plants back past where the worst of the damage is, feed them (still just about time) or give an ericaceous fertilser drink and they will probably get over it for flowering time next year.
