Another Fuchsia question

Nadia2Nadia2 Posts: 40

Like lots of other people my fuchsias (large, hardy and in pots) have been badly affected by rust. I pushed them out of sight to deal with later intending to burn them. I have now discovered that having dropped all the affected leaves, they are covered in fresh new growth. So,what to do with them?

Make sure you strip then of all the leaves and flowers, cut them back by about a third and repot them in new compost. The rust wont affect next years growth, if you can maintain them at a minimum of 5 degrees they will continue to put on new growth throughout the winter.
