Advice needed

Hi, 

Just as I was starting to take an interest in gardening earlier this year, my better half bought home a plant called 'California Glory'. I have put it in a pot in the sunniest place we have and been sparing with the water. it seems to be o.k, but being in the North east of England and not California I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me for keeping it alive, and possibly even getting cuttings or using the seeds that it produces. Oh, pruning tips also useful if anyone has any!
