Spring tulips and daffodils in my strawberry beds?

ClaringtonClarington Posts: 4,949

Can anyone tell me whether planting spring tulips and daffodils around my strawberry bed would be a bad idea? I'm just thinking it would be a nice to get a bit of colour and height in what will otherwise be a bare area.

Yes, I would think thats ok, will give a bit of colour in the spring.

Shouldn't be a problem, bulbs are planted deeper and strawberries are shallow rooted.

Thanks both! image the strawberries are visible from the kitchen window (thus easy for picking and scarying birds away) so it'll be nice to have some bright colours in there.

Clari I used to grow strawbs in with all kinds of other decorative planting, including bulbs,  in a previous garden. It worked well image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
