Flower bed in front of bay window - choiysa ternata

Hello any suggestions for good plants we are having a flower bed directly outside the bay window of an urban Edwardian house and thought about choiysa ternata and maybe a short bushy red rose  - want something that doesn't interfere with the foundations or wall but is evergreen and maybe red! Saw a La Sevillana rose that might be good.

Anyone have any tips for flower beds under windows - should it go up to the wall or end just before?

The bed can go right to the wall but I wouldn't plant close to the wall, especially with shrubs.  a couple of foot away at least

Choisya gets quite big for a position in front of a window

so perhaps a smaller variety of box hedge is better

I planted under my front window with tall perennials and grasses that we can see when sitting in the room, Did it last year so still developing it, but can sit and watch the grasses blowing and hopefully next year will see some of the taller flowers.

Just a different way of looking at it. What's the point of planting stuff you can't see?

I'm not sure the acid green of the choisya will look nice against the red rose personally, it might be a bit jarring. What aspect is the bed, sunny or shady?
