Aylesbury Prune

When we moved into our new house twenty years ago, there were three old plum trees at the bottom of the garden. They were the remnants of what were large orchards of what are called Aylesbury Prune trees in the village of Weston Turville in Buckinghamshire.
The trees are now in extremely poor condition but we want to save them if possible. Has anyone got any advice?
