I'm getting a couple from a work colleague who confirms that they survive better in a sheltered area and it's not actually a sempervivum tectorum but it's in the same family but as yet no name. I'll post some close ups as soon as I get them.
I agree with all who think it's echiveria. I can't say which variety as there are so many. Like Dovefromabove says, not really hardy. Saying that, the one on my rockery has survived two winters without protection, but I do give the big one in a pot a bit of shelter in poly lean-to.
Dovefromabove.....Thanks for the encouragement! That's what neighbours are for!
Don't know how neighbourly, but we have our own independent lifeboat, and it's "really bootiful"...what have you got that would give me a clue?
Hi Dovefromabove, don't tell me you are living on Marston Marshes! It must be quite nippy out there with the nights pulling in as they do now. The early fog here this morning was lovely ....probably same your way.
Yes I did notice that Alan 4711 was just up the coast. I don't think there are many (if any) parts of the country that isn't covered by the GW fans. And what lovely people they all are.
Reminds me of my early days. I was brought up on a farm in Ludham, not that far away, and it was about 75 yards from the river Thurne. No neighbours for what seemed like miles....certainly the best years of my life, and probably why I love the wide open spaces and all the things that live there. I'm getting carried away now!

So you're at Caister
Just down the coast from Alan 4711
Well, we have lots of bats, an otter that likes appearing on camera, lots of dragonflies, and we sadly have 3 fewer cows since the weekend.

Just over the hill from here
it's where I go for a walk when gardening doesn't give me enough exercise. Is it any wonder we have so much wildlife around here

Oh Dove, how lovely, and how lucky are you!

Dave, the picture that you posted looks like them but really I have nothing other the picture I posted to go on.
As soon as I get the plants (not sure when that's going to be) I'll post a few close up pictures for you to see clearly
Thanks everyone for your help so far.
It's NOT echeveria as others have said, I blew up your picture on photoshop and my first ID was correct.
