Problem with a clivia

I have brown 'paper like/crumbling' area at the bottom of all the leaves on a clivia. What is it and how can I remedy this please?

    Atmosphere too dry? I don't know how bad your clivia is. I have a large clivia and the bottom of all the leaves are like this. Is it not normal? Keep it out of the sun, but in good light.

    Thank you for this. This 'problem' has only happened in the past year. Will move it to a damper place out of the sun.

    When you say 'a damper place' are you keeping it as a house plant?

    Yes, I have always had it as a house plant. Too cold where I live for an outside plant.
