Just wondering if this plant is a weed, or perhaps something a bit more exciting
Oww what sort of weed is it?
It looks like Redshank - Polygonum persicaria, or one of it's relatives. Common weeds in arable land.

I learnt to identify them in the 1960s from charts in the Farmer's Weekly Nut
I remember the change because the wonderfully named Polygonum 'Superbum'
became Persicaria 'Superba'. Boring
I do so agree, I loved telling people that that particular plant was called Superbum! On a less silly note, yes the one shown is a weed, get rid asap.
