Ok clematis is repotted in huge pot and covered with mulch. Haven't seen it for a few weeks as dark when I leave and come home from work. But randomly looked at it today and 2 flowers have appeared?????
One of mine has suddenly burst into bloom too. It was planted earlier this year and obviously spent a bit of time getting it's roots down - then we had a cold spell in August and when the temps warmed up after that the poor things thought spring had come!!!
Not to worry, give them some clematis food next spring and they'll get back into a more normal flowering pattern

Are you a Hobbit as007?

You can get terracotta ones quite cheaply in DIY stores too. I got a huge one in Homebase last year for a tenner.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Anyone know why????

I have clems in bloom that wouldn't be normally either. Enjoy.
Prune and feed in spring as indicated and it will be fine.
